"It was a five-syllable fart, a cockadoodledo fart, a fart that shook me and every other person in that bathroom out of our mortal coils." I had to suppress the laughter from my cube after reading this...[via dooce]
Will Ferrell makes these ads hilarious. I still wish he were on Saturday Night Live.
The Sunday Blues aren't nearly so bad when the weather is gorgeous out. The sun was shining all day. I typically hate Sundays because it's the day before the work week commences. Plus I do all the usual Sunday things: read the Sunday papers (local and NYT), do laundry, watch a little football, vacuum, do a little knitting. I always feel like I'm just waiting for Monday to come. It's hard to think of Sundays as fun. Maybe if I planned something to happen only on Sundays...like a Sunday dinner. That would make things easier to bear.
Upgrading to Movable Type 2.5 wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.
Education/Technology - Tim Lauer The idea of RSS business cards sounds neat!
Scott Foresman went eight rounds with Little Brown and won in a unanimous vote.
A storm is headed this way. Hole up at home and do something fun inside.
Check it out: "we collect FOUND stuff: love letters, birthday cards, kids' homework, to-do lists, ticket stubs, poetry on napkins, telephone bills, doodles- anything that gives a glimpse into someone else's life. anything goes..." [via boing boing]
It was the Broncos vs. the Raiders. B and I had our turn and hosted Monday Night Football yesterday evening. It was nice because I had the day off and was able to do all the rest of the food prep. Here was the menu: flatbread and crudités with lemon hummus, rosemary and white bean soup, mac and cheese with pork sausage and oysters, mac and cheese with spinach and ham, and for dessert, gingersnap and pumpkin ice cream sandwiches and caramel lady apples. Yum! It was delicious and I have lots of leftovers.
This is a great NYTimes article on Eminem by Frank Rich. It's a preview of the entertainment issue of the magazine. I only started listening to Eminem last summer and I was completely blown away by his most recent album, The Eminem Show. I think he's a brilliant rapper and the whole album is filled with catchy rhymes. I am now an Eminem fan. I can't wait to see 8 Mile. It will be interesting to see how far he has crossed over into the mainstream.
It's been wicked cold here in P-Town lately. It was so cold last night that I didn't even seen any trick-or-treaters around my neighborhood at all.
