Here's a great Microsoft Word tip: Hold the Shift key down while you click on the File menu and two new menus will appear. The Save All and Close All menu choices. It even works on a Mac!
This morning when I logged into Gmail, I noticed that there is finally a delete button! Yay!
After reading the great reviews on Pok Pok a few weeks back, I finally had the chance to go get some takeout theother night. I got the kai yaang--roasted game hen, the kai soi kai--noodles with chicken in coconut milk soup, and the khao mon som tam--shredded pork with coconut rice and papaya salad. It was all delicious. I think my favorite was the noodle soup. All the dishes were very flavorful and tasty. It was also nice to have a different kind of Thai food rather than what's on all the Thai menus in town. Check it out!
This is a new venture from one of the co-founders of PayPal, this free service indexes all of those photos on your desktop hard drive (even the ones you didn't know existed) into slideshow format. Unlike other photo services, slide.com doesn't require users to click, choose and upload photos one-by-one; once the program is downloaded, it pretty much does the rest on its own. The slideshow runs as a ticker, continuously, across your computer screen. Users can create different slide show "channels", create links to send to friends and family and add music and/or video.
Here's a link to the January 2006 Scholastic Administrator article I was interviewed for regarding podcasting in PPS. The article is called "More Than Basic Training: 10 Innovative Ways to Reach Teachers."
Cesar Millan, better known as the Dog Whisperer, is back on the National Geographic Channel this Friday with the premiere of season two of his show. Cesar gave a seminar in Vancouver, WA last year that I attended and he is as charming and charismatic as he appears on television. If you've already seen his show, you know how amazing he is with dogs. He even has a blog now!
Check out the SNL digital short that had aired serveral weeks back. It's too funny!
This Washington Post feature mentions the Chinese grant that Portland Public Schools received from the Defense Department this fall. The Oregon program is the first in the country to track students from kindergarten to college. Some nice items about Woodstock Elementary are included.
