I finished all the painting in the living room yesterday morning. I cannot believe it is done. Now I just need to get some new furniture and decide what goes where. I plan to get a new couch, plus a few other pieces like a big bookshelf and coffee table. I used Laura Ashley color Taupe 4 and Bleached Wheat on the ceiling and for all the trim. Here are the pictures:

Here are some shots of the dining room completely furnished, for the most part. In the corner, to the right of the table, I would like to put this buffet from IKEA. I think it would fit. The chairs and the table are from Dania.

I am so excited because the end is in sight. I had finished the dining room a couple of weekends ago and last weekend I decided to rambo on ahead and tackle the living room. I can't believe how quickly it's actually gone. I painted the ceiling at the beginning of the week and last night I painted the first coat on the walls. Even as patchy as it looks, it's an improvement. The taupe color goes well with the brick-colored tile surrounding the fireplace. It's been almost a year since I first got into the house. I can't believe that the end is finally here. Of course, that means I 've been thinking about the fun part--decorating! I need to make my IKEA list. I also get my dining room chairs today. Photos of the completed dining room and living room are forthcoming.
Since the dining room painting is now complete, I added some artwork and bought some new furniture. This is the wall hanging I made with this Disco Dot fabric from Michael Miller. I had bought some 36" canvas stretchers from an art supply store and then stapled the fabric on. Instant art! And I can change the fabric whenever I want. I haven't taken a picture of the new dining table yet because I wanted to wait until I got the chairs too. They come in this Friday and I got the table last Friday. The table is fabulous. It's teak and has two leaves that extend the table to 93".
I have spent most of the last five days finishing up the dining room. I can proudly say that it is now complete and ready for furnishing. I absolutely love how the color turned out. Originally, I was going to go a shade darker, but I'm glad I chose the lighter one. The paint is from Laura Ashley and the walls were done in Apple 4 and the trim and ceiling were done in bleached wheat.

I also managed to paint the rest of the kitchen cabinets, as well as the remaining trim. This white is called Thalia.
I ordered this lawnmower at the end of July. I cannot tell you how excited I am to get it and test it out. Since moving into teh house I have been borrowing a friend's push mower and it is completely old school and weighs a ton. I knew that I wanted a push mower and my sister had gotten this really cool Gardena mower on sale for $100. However, in all of my research on push mowers, the model she got regularly retails for $179.99! Most decent push mowers average around $79-$100. The only criteria I had for a push mower is that it weigh under 20 pounds. I looked at Brill Luxus mowers, but couldn't part with $200. This Ginge (from Denmark) mower is 17 pounds and was on sale for $99.95 with free shipping. That was a steal in my book.
