Baby Gift

Here's a ballerina rabbit I knitted up for a friend's baby. The pattern is from the Debbie Bliss book Knitted Toys. The wrap around sweater and shoes were knit with leftover Rowan Cashcotton from the Apres Surf Hoodie. The skirt was made with some Amy Butler fabric.

Mottled Scarf

Due to the freezing temperatures here in Portland, I opted to skip the lacy mohair scarf and knit up something warm and bulky instead! This mottled scarf pattern is from an old issue of Rebecca. I used some Rowan Polar yarn from my stash that was from Carolyn. I've been searching for a new sweater project and think I may have come to a decision. I'm digging this Rebecca pattern by Fiona Ellis. It's from the latest winter 2008 issue of Twist Collective. I love the cabling and the feminine shaping. Now, I just need to find the yarn!

Let It Snow

The weather here has been crazy cold since the weekend with some snow off and on. I don't have any big projects lined up, but I did find some socks and scarves that I want to knit. I have some leftover mohair from the slouchy hat, so I thought I'd knit up this Wisp scarf from the 2007 summer edition of Knitty. I don't think I have enough yarn, so I'll be making some modifications to the pattern. I'll also be on the lookout for a fun sweater project to start during some vacation time next week.

Lightweight Yet Cozy

I love this Simple Pleasures Hat. It is very lightweight, but is so soft and warm without the bulk of a wool knit hat. I also love the slouchy look.

Simple Pleasures Hat

I started this Simple Pleasures Hat last weekend. I'm using Plymouth Yarn Baby Alpaca Lace and Rowan Kidsilk Haze. All that ribbing gets turned up into a cuff. I'm hoping it's really warm because the last few days here have been freezing! Brrr!
